FAQs

Who is body sculpting for?

Body sculpting works best for individuals with a normal body mass index who want to target stubborn fat, reduce cellulite and tone muscle. These treatments should not be used as a substitute for proper diet and exercise.

What causes cellulite?

Cellulite is a collection of fatty cells under the skin. Inflammation, loss of collagen, poor lymphatic drainage, aging, and genetics all contribute to the amount of cellulite a person has and how noticeable it may be. Areas of increased fatty tissues like the back of our thighs may show more cellulite than other areas of the body.

How do all of the body sculpting techniques work together?

In a typical session we use a combination of treatments to contour the body. We start with ultrasound cavitation which targets stubborn fat. We integrate wood therapy to push any toxins towards your lymph nodes so your body can excrete them. Next we use EMS treatment to build and define muscles. We finish with RF skin tightening which promotes the production of collagen and tightens skin for a firmer and toned look.

What is ultrasound cavitation?

Cavitation is a low frequency ultrasound. The ultrasound waves creates bubbles in the liquid that surround the fat cells, this pressure causes the fat cells to implode. The membrane of the fat cells do not have the capacity to withstand the vibration and heat from this treatment. The fat is then eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system. Ultrasound cavitation is not a weight loss treatment on its own and must be combined with proper diet and exercise for best results.

Is ultrasound cavitation safe?

Ultrasound cavitation is a non-invasive and painless treatment that is safe for most people. Ultrasound cavitation is not for people with cancer, high blood pressure, blood disorders, heart disease, kidney failure, liver failure, lupus or epilepsy. You should not have ultrasound cavitation if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have metal implants or electrical devices (i.e. metal hip joints, metal IUD, pacemakers). We do not recommend having the treatment during menstruation. Prior to your session we will discuss whether the treatment is safe for you.

How often should cavitation treatments be done?

Ultrasound cavitation treatments should be spaced at least 72 hours apart because the body needs three days to fully eliminate the fat and toxins released during a session. After the first three sessions, sessions can be spaced a week apart.

How often should radio frequency treatments be done?

RF skin tightening should be spaced out once a week. With this treatment it continues to promote collage production over the next 4-6 weeks. Also, always use sunscreen, and avoid sun exposure up to 3 days on treated area.

How many sessions do I need?

Results vary from person to person because everyone’s body is different. Typically clients see the best results between 6-12 sessions. The average client loses approximately two inches every four sessions.

Are results permanent?

How long results last is highly dependent on whether or not clients maintain them. Ultrasound cavitation permanently destroys fat cells, but your body constantly creates new fat cells. Results can be permanent if they are maintained through healthy diet and exercise. Without healthy diet and exercise results may fade within six months.

How should I prepare for a session?

Please be sure to drink plenty of water and try to avoid caffeine, alcohol and heavy meals at least 24 hours before and an hour after a treatment. Avoid excessive sun exposure (sun burn) on the area 2 weeks before treatment. For RF Skin tightening it’s best to wait up to 4 weeks if you had a microneedling treatment, chemical peel, & dermal fillers.

What can I expect after body sculpting?

Body sculpting is a non-invasive procedure, therefore you can return to normal daily activities. You may experience redness, tenderness, or swelling around the treated area the following days after.
